Produced under the banner of Saanvi Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the film ‘Rangi’ is set to release on Falgun 2.
Presented by Saloon Basnet, the release date was announced on Wednesday along with the unveiling of its poster and motion poster by the production team.
The poster features actor Saloon Basnet and child artist Ayushi Dhakal in serious expressions. Set against a rural marketplace backdrop, the poster evokes curiosity about the reason behind their seriousness, which audiences can uncover only by watching the film.
The motion poster includes Saloon, Ayushi, and debut actress Namrata Shrestha, who is the winner of ‘Miss World Nepal 2020’.
Directed by debutant Suresh Neupane, the film stars Saloon Basnet, Namrata Shrestha, Dilip Rayamajhi, Ayushi Dhakal, Uttam KC, Sumin Gurung, and Bishal Pahari. According to presenter Saloon Basnet, the movie portrays the story of a father and daughter.
‘Rangi’ marks Saloon’s debut as a producer. Having started his career as a child artist in ‘Nepali Babu’, Saloon transitioned to leading roles with films like ‘Hostel’.
The film is written by Suman Gajmer and shot by Saurabh Lama, with music composed by Durgesh Thapa, Aamesh Bhandari, and Bheem BC. Songs are performed by singers such as Anand Karki, Samikshya Adhikari, and Sujata KC.
The film is edited by Bande Prasad, while Rajendra Moktan handled the coloring. Choreography is directed by Kaviraj Gahatraj and Shishir Khati.
The film will be distributed by Apple Entertainment, FD, and Rich Entertainment.
Director Suresh Neupane has previously worked as a chief assistant director in notable films such as ‘Chhakka Panja’, ‘Ae Mero Hajur 2’, ‘Yatra’, ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2’, and ‘Kri’.
With its release, ‘Rangi’ is expected to bring a fresh narrative and style to the Nepali film industry.
