The second poster of the movie ‘Juna: Ek Betha’, created to combat child marriage and violence against women, has been released.

Set to release on Magh 25 (January 2025), the film is produced under the banner of Godawari Film Production and Research Pvt. Ltd. and directed by Jeevan Century.

The poster features the lead actors Ashmita Dhakal and Krishna Prasad Dhital.

Ashmita is portrayed as a married woman holding her child with a look of despair, staring into the distance. Similarly, Krishna Prasad Dhital is shown expressing anger towards someone. His bearded look, traditional attire (Daura Suruwal and Topi), piercing gaze, and intense expression highlight his rage. The poster was designed by Rakesh Dahal.

The movie stars Ashmita Dhakal, Krishna Prasad Dhital, Deshbhakta Khanal, Rashmi Bhatt, Kamal Bohora, Asmita Basnet, and Khagendra Neupane.

According to director Jeevan Century, the movie carries the slogan: “Child marriage is a social crime. Let’s put an end to it.” He added, “‘Juna: Ek Byatha’ is a historical and distinctive film that addresses the pressing need to eradicate harmful practices prevalent in Nepali society, including violence against women, child marriage, mismatched marriages, polygamy, rape, forced sexual assault, and menstruation-based discrimination like Chhaupadi.”

The director further stated that since the movie focuses on issues like child marriage and women’s rights, it aligns with the Nepal Government’s target to end child marriage by 2030.

The film, shot in Salija Okhreni, Parbat, is funded by Deepak Prasad Ghimire. It features a story by Raj Bahadur Sane, music by BB Anuragi and Ramesh Century, lyrics by Jeevan Century and Bhim Bahadur Poudel, vocals by Anju Panta, Purnakala BC, and Yadurai Lakandri, with cinematography by Rameshwar Humagain.
