Following the announcement of the production of the film Koshedhunga by director Saroj Poudel, known for the historical blockbuster Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, discussions regarding the film’s lineup are gaining momentum.
There is curiosity among cinema circles and well-wishers about the cast of this new project. According to director Poudel, the lineup of lead actors has been finalized. Surakshya Panta, Aryan Sigdel, Niti Shah, and Praveen Khatiwada have been signed for the film.
The theme poster of Koshedhunga has already hinted that a female character will lead the narrative. However, the director has not yet revealed who that character will be.
Poudel’s previous directorial venture, Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, grossed approximately 500 million Nepali rupees in Nepal alone.
Koshedhunga is a social drama that, according to the theme poster, will tell a story of struggle, dreams, and scarcity.
“We will reveal details about the film’s story, genre, and cast in due course,” said director Poudel. “However, we can assure you that, just like Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, this film will also win the audience’s hearts.”
Given the success of Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, expectations are high for Koshedhunga, which is anticipated to be another hit under Poudel’s direction.
The production team has announced that filming will commence on Fagun 2 and the movie is slated for release in 2082 BS (2025 AD).
Presented by Nardevi Films, the movie is being produced by Previl Kandel and Hari Mahat, with Dinesh Khadka serving as the executive producer.
Cinematography will be handled by Babu Shrestha, and Surendra Poudel will oversee the editing. The film’s music will be composed by Rhythm Kandel and Ashish Aviral, with Subalmani Sapkota as the casting director.
Even before the film’s shooting has begun, its international distribution rights have been sold to Seven Seas International.
