
The release date of the film ‘Jaar’ has been announced.
According to the announcement, the film, based on the historical story by writer Indra Bahadur Rai, will be released on the 26th of Baishakh. On the same date, the film ‘Unko Sweater’, directed by Navin Chauhan and starring Bipin Karki and Miruna Magar, will also be released.
The ‘Jaar’ production team made the announcement of the release date by unveiling the poster today.
The newly released poster features the main three characters of the film. The film portrays a real event that occurred in Nepali society towards the end of the 1800s.
The film, produced under the banner of Ferry Tail Pictures, stars Sougat Mall, Anup Bikram Shah, and Indian National Film Award-winning actress Geetanjali Thapa in major roles.
Geetanjali, who won India’s National Award for Best Actress for her performance in ‘Liar’s Dice’, has appeared in internationally acclaimed film festivals such as Toronto, Busan, Los Angeles, and New York. She has also acted in the Netflix series ‘Sacred Games’.
Directed by Furba Chiring Lama, the entire film was shot in Sikkim.
The film, produced in collaboration with Hope Reels, LA Seven Shorts, Baral Studio, and Kiva Production, has executive producers Trilochan Pandey, Neeraj Rai, Nursang Bhutia, Jyoti Kshetri, and Pema Rinzing Lepcha.
The cinematography of the film is by Sarvanan Elavarsu, and the music is composed by Jhuma Limbu and Ganga Thapa.
The film will be released simultaneously in Nepal, India, and international markets.
In Nepal, the film will be distributed by Apple Entertainment, Reach Entertainment, and FD Company, while the international distributor is Seven Seas Cinemas.
