Director Prashant Tamang’s film ‘Sarang’ has received praise everywhere. The film, set to be released nationwide on Magh 25, had its premiere on Tuesday at QFX, Civil Mall. Artists, technicians, journalists, and representatives from various fields who attended the premiere expressed their admiration for ‘Sarang’.
Actress and director Deepashree Niroula openly praised ‘Sarang’. She stated that the film is special for both married and unmarried people and expressed that everyone should watch it. She believed the film would win the hearts of general audiences because, in addition to entertainment, it carries significant messages. She also praised the performances of Richa, Utpala, child actors Aditya Karki and Samrat Thapa. She mentioned that making a film based on real events is a courageous task and that the producer and director should be commended for their efforts.
Director Pradeep Bhattrai mentioned that he, along with his wife and son, had cried multiple times while watching ‘Sarang’. He emphasized the importance of making such beautiful films in the future. Producer Arjun Kumar said that ‘Sarang’ is a film with a slightly different subject matter compared to other films currently running, and he believes that films like this play a significant role in fostering harmony in families and society. He mentioned that many scenes in the film touched his heart.
Actress Priyanka Karki said that ‘Sarang’, based on real-life events, will touch the hearts of the general audience. She praised how the film portrays events happening in homes and families. Actor Debyadev and actor-director Sulakshan Bharti also praised the film, noting that it has been made with a story that truly needs to be told to the general public. They mentioned that they had cried several times while watching it.
Actress and executive producer of the film Richa Sharma mentioned that ‘Sarang’ is her second innings in her career. Welcoming the guests at the premiere, she said, “After a few years of hiatus, I’m making my comeback with this film, and it has turned out to be very good. We’ve received excellent feedback from various special shows held so far. Because of this, I’m very optimistic. I believe this is my second innings.”
Director, writer, and producer Prashant Tamang shared that he supports the concept of social and family harmony and prefers to make films that highlight family, friends, and community unity. Having previously made a film on child psychology, ‘Thulo Manchhe’, ‘Sarang’ tells the magical story of two children and the emotional connections in a broken family.
Before the official release, ‘Sarang’ received a lot of praise through special screenings in places like Labim Mall, Dharan, and Itahari. Audience members who watched the film in the theaters were seen weeping, as many shared that the film felt real and touched their hearts. Some also mentioned they were experiencing similar issues in their own families, which made them emotional.
‘Sarang’ primarily presents the realities of urban life, conflicts between parents, the divide between the rich and poor, and the family breakdown that happens in the name of material success.
The film features performances by Richa, Utpal Jha, Sameer Mani Dixit, Suraj Tamu, Mani K Rai, Anisha Nyaupane, Niraj Black, Bishwo Syangbo, Deepika Thapa, Suman Sagar Jung KC, Prabhat Shrestha, and child actors Aditya Karki and Samrat Thapa. The film is produced under the banner of Darshan Buddha Films, with Prem Tamang and Phoolmaya Tamang as producers. Pushpa Limbu and Binu Gurung are co-producers. The music of the film is by Shankar Thapa ‘Smile’ and Nakul Karki, with lyrics by Dipendra Khanal and choreography by Sushma Rai. The film was shot by Gopal Rai and edited by Mitra D Gurung. The film will be shown in theaters nationwide, distributed by Station 5.
