‘Mummy’ Gets Rave Reviews at Premiere: A Must-Watch Family Horror Film

The movie ‘Mummy,’ which is set to release nationwide on Magh 25 (this Friday), held its red carpet premiere show on Wednesday evening at QFX Civil Mall. The premiere of the film, starring actresses Priyanka Karki, Diya Maske, and actor Sulakshan Bharti, was attended by the cast and crew.

Along with Priyanka and Diya, the premiere was also attended by several notable figures, including actress and director Deepashree Niroula, director Gyanendra Deuja, Nawal Nepala, producer Chhaviraj Ojha, actress Keki Adhikari, actors Salinman Baniya, Salon Basnet, former Miss Nepal and actress Namrata Shrestha, and former Miss Nepal Jenisha Moktan.

The movie, which is made in the family horror genre, has been in the spotlight since the release of its teaser and trailer. During the premiere event, teenage girls presented costumes drenched in blood in sky-blue attire. Actress Diya Maske appeared in a white-and-black outfit with a cape, while Priyanka Karki wore a black sleeveless dress. Priyanka was accompanied by her mother at the premiere show.

Actress and director Deepashree Niroula shared her thoughts with the media after the premiere, expressing that the film was well-made according to its theme. She expressed satisfaction that, after a long time, Nepal was able to experience a top-quality family horror film and encouraged everyone to buy tickets and watch it. Actress Keki Adhikari also praised the film and emphasized that new producers and directors like Samar Niroula should be welcomed into the Nepali film industry.

Actor Salon Basnet also encouraged everyone to watch the film, mentioning that it was well-made. Actress and former Miss Nepal Namrata Shrestha, who also participated in the premiere, mentioned that ‘Mummy’ not only creates suspense but also raises awareness about such societal incidents. Actor Salinman Baniya also expressed confidence that the movie would win the hearts of viewers. He shared his happiness about getting to watch a top-notch horror film in Nepal.

The movie, produced under the banner of So Twenty Five, was written by Samar Niroula and Purnima Joshi, with direction by Samar Niroula, who is making his directorial debut. The film is produced by Lok Raj Joshi and Purnima Joshi, with Suman Koirala serving as the executive producer.

The film’s cinematography was done by Nishal Paudel and Sharad Mahato, while Suren Maherjan handled the editing. The sound was designed by Rohit Shakya, and the soundtrack features Shraval ARP. The fight choreography was directed by NV Maherjan, color coordination was done by Dipesh Chaudhary, and the music was composed by SD Yogi.

The film will be distributed by Kafiya Films in the Kathmandu Valley and by Kuwar Cine Distribution in other regions.
