Manisha Koirala: ” Managed time to watch ‘Purnabahadur ko Sarangi,’ but couldn’t get a ticket due to houseful”

Actress Manisha Koirala has shared that despite making two attempts, she was unable to watch the all-time blockbuster film.

She made this revelation at the White House Literature Festival.

She said, “I tried twice and even got the ticket for Purnabahadur ko Sarangi, but couldn’t get in because it was houseful.”

Expressing her surprise at the success of Nepali films, she referred to the growing Nepali film market at the White House Literature Festival‘s event “Art Beyond Borders,” stating, “Nepali films have reached the international market. And an example of how the film market in Nepal is growing is Purnabahadur ko Sarangi.”

The actress also spoke about the hard work Bollywood actors put in to establish themselves. She said, “Just like Bollywood actors, there is hard work here too. If this effort continues, the Nepali film market will expand.”

She emphasized that consistency and hard work are key to achieving any success, adding, “My learning has been that it’s either ‘do it or die trying.'”

She also mentioned that her family background was not only political but also had an inclination toward art, which influenced her to pursue a career in the arts.

According to her, even though her family background was political during her childhood, she had a simple upbringing.

Regarding her participation in the festival, she shared that she enjoys interacting with students from the new generation. “When I reach out to students of the new generation, I feel more energized to work,” she said. “I participate in such events because I enjoy listening to and telling stories.”

In the conversation, she also mentioned that overcoming cancer requires mental strength. “To defeat cancer, one must be mentally strong,” she said. “You must strive to live for yourself.”
