Kathmandu – Singer Eleena Chauhan has said that people have started calling her “Dhokebaj” (betrayer).
Before her performance at the White House Literature Festival on Friday, when student audiences requested her to sing the song Dhokebaj, she made this statement.
“Are they calling me ‘Dhokebaj’ or referring to the song? These days, even when I hear the word ‘Dhokebaj,’ it feels like it’s meant for me,” she said.
When the audience requested an encore of Dhokebaj, some asked if she had experienced multiple heartbreaks. In response, she advised them to focus on their studies rather than getting into relationships.
She also mentioned that she isn’t in the mood to sing Dhokebaj frequently at the moment. “I recently went through a breakup. In times like this, singing ‘Dhokebaj’ repeatedly isn’t ideal. I’m not in the mood for it,” she said. After that, she performed the song Ke Maya Lauxa Ra.
Additionally, she sang several songs, including Timro Mayale Bandhera Rakh, Dhokebaj Hau Timi, Katta Handinchu, Raksi Churot Chadna Paudainau, Dushman Hereko Herei, and Mineral Water.
Singer Chauhan recently filed for divorce against her husband, Bishnu Sapkota, at the Kathmandu District Court last Friday.
