
The eighth edition of the ATIA Everest Global Nepali Film Awards will be held on August 9, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado, USA. The date for the eighth edition of the Global Nepali Film Awards was announced during a special event held in Kathmandu.
In the presence of Honorable Minister of Bagmati Province, Madhu Kumar Shrestha, and the Chairperson of the Nepal Film Development Board, Dinesh DC, the formal closing of the seventh edition and the announcement of the eighth edition’s date took place on September 15 in New York.
The President of Global Nepali Film Awards USA, actor Navraj Shrestha, welcomed all the attendees and announced the eighth edition of the “ATIA Everest Global Nepali Film Awards 2025.”
The event was chaired by Krishna Mall, the central president of the Nepal Film Society. The eighth edition of the ATIA Everest Global Nepali Film Awards 2025, organized with the theme ‘Nepali Film: Village to Globe,’ aims to honor, reward, and encourage filmmakers. Krishna Mall, central president of the Nepal Film Society, mentioned that this event has been continuously held to recognize and encourage Nepali filmmakers, with the goal of promoting Nepali art and culture worldwide by gathering Nepali filmmakers and artists from across the globe.
This event is being organized jointly by Nepal Film Society Nepal, Global Nepali Film Awards USA, and Helping Hands Health Education. The President of Nepal Film Society is senior actor Krishna Mall, and the President of Global Nepali Film Awards USA is actor Navraj Shrestha.
The President of Helping Hands Health Education, Narayan Shrestha, stated that the event would be held grandly to promote and support the development of Nepali cinema.
The announcement of the eighth edition was attended by senior artists and personalities such as Harihar Sharma, Shambhujit Baskota, Shobhit Upreti, Mohan Niroula, Basant Shrestha, Bhuwan Chand, Basundhara Bhusal, Tirtha Thapa, Dipendra Gauchan, Madan Dash Shrestha, Radheshyam Lekali, Sunil Thapa, Prashant Tamrakar, Dr. Bhim Arjun Acharya, Ashok Sharma, among others.
Since 2016, the ‘Global Nepali Film Awards,’ with the slogan ‘Our Name, Our Pride, Our Identity: From Village to the World Market,’ has been regularly organized to encourage and honor filmmakers. The previous seven editions of the awards have been successfully held in Colorado, San Francisco, and New York City.
