The winner of ‘Miss Globe 2024,’ Diana Moreno, has arrived in Nepal. She landed in Kathmandu today (Tuesday) via Tribhuvan International Airport. She is in Nepal to serve as a judge for the ‘November Clothing Mister and Miss National Nepal 2025’ auditions. The organizer team was present at the airport to welcome her, including Dr. Santosh Upadhyaya, the national organizer of Mister and Miss National, and Miss Globe Nepal, Monica Adhikari. Diana was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and wrapped in the Nepali flag.
Speaking to the media at the airport, Diana expressed her happiness about being in Nepal. She mentioned that the country’s beautiful mountains and natural beauty had captivated her heart. She also promised to help promote Nepal’s beauty worldwide. Diana encouraged the contestants of Mister and Misses National Nepal to participate with confidence.
Diana will perform the role of a judge in the auditions starting from February 15 (Falgun 3) in Kathmandu. This competition, in collaboration with the World Youth Festival, will also include an international-level fashion runway show in Kavrepalanchok, which aims to raise awareness about climate change. From the auditions, Diana will also participate in an interactive program in Kavre during the World Youth Festival on February 15.
The organizers claim that Sunurvi International is the first competition in Nepal to include international winners as judges in the grand finale of a beauty pageant. Dr. Santosh Upadhyaya, the organizer of Sunurvi International, mentioned that international winners will serve as judges from the audition stage itself in the fourth edition.
“This year, from the Kathmandu auditions, we will include international judges, and their participation in the World Youth Festival in Kavre will add value to Nepal’s beauty pageant and fashion industry,” he said.
According to the organizers, Diana’s stay in Nepal will be for five days. During this time, she will tour Kathmandu’s natural and cultural heritage sites. She will also have photoshoots in areas listed as World Heritage sites in the valley. Meetings with the Nepal Tourism Board, Ministry of Tourism, and Ministry of Youth and Sports are also scheduled during her stay. Diana will stay in Kathmandu’s five-star hotels, Dusit Princess and Dusit Thani in Dhulikhel.
The auditions, which will run until March 2, will be held in Kathmandu Valley, as well as in Biratnagar, Pokhara, Itahari, Chitwan, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadhi. Men and women aged between 18 and 32 are eligible to participate.
In the 2024 finale held in Albania, Diana, representing Colombia, won the crown. From Nepal, Miss Globe Nepal, Monica Adhikari, represented the country and succeeded in placing within the top 15.
Mister and Miss National Nepal includes six international franchises: Miss Supra National, Miss Globe Nepal, Mister Supra National, Miss Intercontinental, Mister International, and Mister Tourism World. The organizers claim this is Nepal’s largest beauty competition.
