
Pralisha Shakya has won the title of ‘Miss Newa 1145’.
She secured this title by surpassing 19 other competitors at a grand ceremony organized by Nepalese Fashion Home at Pragya Bhawan in Kamalpokhari. Along with the title of ‘Miss Newa 1145’, she received a cash prize of one lakh rupees and several other gifts.
Pralisha, who completed her Bachelor’s degree in Tourism from Nathm College, is currently working at Nepal Darshan Complete Tourism Pvt. Ltd. She is the daughter of Manju Bajracharya and Pradeep Shakya, and stands 5 feet 3 inches tall.
Interestingly, she had also won the main title in the ‘Miss Little Newa 1133’ contest organized by Nepalese Fashion Home in 2013. Pralisha has been involved in the media for the last decade. In this competition, she also won the Best Nepalese Language title award.
In this contest, Lunibha Manandhar from Chandragiri Municipality, Naikap, won the First Runner-up title, while Lumna Mahajan from Chamati, Kathmandu, secured the Second Runner-up title.
They were awarded cash prizes of 25 thousand rupees and 15 thousand rupees, respectively, along with other gifts.
Other winners included Shraddha Mahajan, who won the Best Talent title along with the Social Welfare Second Runner-up title, Anushri Shakya (First Runner-up of Best Talent), and Shriya Manandhar (Second Runner-up of Best Talent).
Ronisha Maharjan won the Social Welfare Ambassador Chief title, and Dibina Dangol was awarded the Social Welfare Ambassador First Runner-up title.
Prashna Shrestha won the Best Dress award, Ritesha Bajracharya took home the Miss Culture award, Sanskriti Shrestha was named Miss Confident, Subheksa Shrestha won Miss Personality, Rimsha Shrestha received the Best Hair award, Ramuna Bajracharya was awarded the Best Skin title, Kuntha Shrestha became Miss Photogenic, Anusha Bajracharya won the Best Smile title, Subhasna Shrestha was crowned Miss Charming, and Rujhi Shakya received the Miss Friendship title.
The competition’s chief judge was Divya Lakshmi Bajracharya, the head of Saraswati Multiple Campus. Other notable judges included advocate and Chairperson of Maa Baglamukhi Cooperative, Laxman Mahajan, former District Governor of Lions International Club 325 L, Lion Manishree Ratna Bajracharya, former president of LCCL, Lalitpur, Azar Man Joshi, Vice Principal of Namuna College of Fashion Technology, Jiveshwar Lal Shrestha, President of Nepal Lipi Guthi, Anil Sthapit, President of SO Nepal, Dr. Shikshita Shrestha, and Miss Newa 1134 winner Elisha Bajracharya.
The event’s organizer, Hema Manandhar, the president of Nepalese Fashion Home, emphasized that the ‘Miss Newa Beauty Contest’ is not only about beauty but also about preserving the art and culture of the Newar community, a mission that should extend to all communities.
The co-organizer, Dil Kumar Mahajan, Vice President of Fight for Life Nepal, stated that the competition had successfully showcased the talent, art, culture, and language of the Newar community.
The event was hosted by Rosin Shakya and choreographed by him as well. Raju Napit, a Nepal language and script instructor, was also involved in the event.
The event was coordinated by Krisha Mahajan, the winner of Miss Newa 1141, and assisted by the winner of Miss Newa 1143, Sakina Mahajan, and Social Welfare Ambassador Chief 1143, Timila Mahajan.
The ceremony, held under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Bimala Shakya, was graced by the chief guest, former Finance Minister Pashupati Shamsher Jabra.
Special guests included Sobit Upreti, Chairman of Upreti Social Service Committee, and senior artist Madandas Shrestha, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award along with a cash prize of 50 thousand rupees.
