Selected through auditions, Supushpa Bhatt made her debut in Nepali cinema with Ranveer. Now, she is making her return to the silver screen after a long time with her upcoming release, Feri Resham Filili.

Produced under the banner of Cinema Art, this film is her home production. The producer of the film is her husband, Raunak Bikram Kandel. With only a few days left for the release, while discussing the film, Supushpa seemed to have a ‘fingers crossed’ feeling about the film and her performance in it.

However, as the conversation progressed, it was evident that she was confident the film had turned out well.

How did she feel when she found out she would be playing the role of the ‘Filili Girl’?

She said, “It felt like I had reached the top. I was extremely happy. The production house is good, the director is hardworking, the script is strong and well-written. I was happy to be a part of a great film.”

Director Niroj Maharjan had written Supushpa’s character with a clear idea of how she should look and her background, and she fit the role perfectly. So, there was no need to look for anyone else.

This sequel features almost all the actors from the first installment. However, Supushpa is the new face in the leading female role. This brings the challenge of living up to the expectations set by the first film.

On this, she said, “There’s no point in comparing the two. Both characters are completely different.”

According to Supushpa, her character is bold, someone who thinks only about what she wants and believes she is the best.

“I have put in all my effort into portraying this character. How effective it has been will be determined by the audience.”

She also wonders whether she had enough time to prepare for the role. Since she was also occupied with another film, she feels she might not have been able to give it her all.

She admits, “I feel like I could have worked even harder.”

For Supushpa, the most important thing in a film is a good script and a well-presented story.

Fortunately, Feri Resham Filili turned out to be just that for her. Not only is the script strong, but her role in the film also complements it well.

“Whenever I take on a film, I always want the script to be good. In this case, not only is the script well-written, but my role is equally strong,” she shared with excitement.

She describes her role as challenging and is both excited and nervous about how the audience will perceive it.

“I do have some worries, but I also have high hopes. It’s a mix of excitement and nervousness,” she said.

When asked how she would rate her own film, she declined to give an immediate answer. However, by the end of the conversation, she expressed confidence in the film, saying,

“The way it was written, it has translated onto the screen exactly the same way.”

The film is set to release on Fagun 14, coinciding with Shivaratri.
