The producer of Laaj Sharanam, Naveen Shrestha, says, “I have not made any compromises in the making of this film. I have moved forward with this project without compromising on budget, location, or time.”
Nabin, who is involved in real estate and hotel businesses, is investing in films for the first time. Until now, he had not invested in art, literature, or cinema. “Seeing the team and the effort put into Laj Sharanam, I have stepped into the film industry. Now that I am here, I won’t step back; I will continue investing in films,” he says.
Although the real estate business has slowed down, Nabin is determined to continue with film investments. He also shares another reason for entering the film industry.
“Film can be a great way to bring money from abroad. Just as foreign films take money from Nepal, we need to bring dollars from foreign markets. To do that, we must create high-quality films,” he states.
He believes that in order to bring dollars into the Nepali film industry, artists, producers, and the government must work together.
Laaj Sharanam, produced by the team behind Sakkigoni, is set to release on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, February 14. The film stars Dhurmus (Sitaram Kattel) in the lead role, and the direction is by Kumar Kattel.
