The advance booking for the movie Laaj Sharanam has been impressive. After multiplexes opened pre-booking on Monday evening, a significant number of tickets have been sold.
Several shows in some theaters were already houseful by Tuesday afternoon. Shows at Lalitpur’s Labim Mall, Bhaktapur’s Bhatbhateni QFX, Baneshwor’s INI, and a few other theaters have been fully booked.
Ticket sales are also strong in theaters like Civil Mall in Kathmandu. The fact that multiple shows are filling up 24 hours before the release and the high number of pre-bookings indicate a strong box office performance.
Due to high demand, multiplex theaters have started adding extra shows. In Kathmandu, QFX initially scheduled 29 shows but has now increased it to 31.
Typically, movies with strong pre-bookings get additional shows, while others may lose some. Laaj Sharanam has secured around 200 screenings across Nepal.
Laaj Sharanam is one of the most anticipated films of the year. It is set to release on Falgun 14 (tomorrow), coinciding with the Maha Shivaratri festival.
The movie is produced by the team behind the popular comedy TV series Sakkigoni, with Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) in the lead role. It is directed by Kumar Kattel.
The film features actors including Vijay Baral, Arjun Ghimire, Sagar Lamsal, Harish Niraula, Priyana Acharya, Mahesh Tripathi, Arpan Thapa, Renu Yogi, Vijay Lama, Mukunda Shrestha, and Mala Limbu.
Produced under the JPT Creations banner, the film’s main producer is Navin Shrestha, with Ram Naresh Shah and Sirjana Khadka as co-producers.
