After the historic success of the Nepali and Hindi fusion song ‘Jhyaai’, Atmoon Entertainment is now preparing for another major Nepali-Bollywood joint project with singer and actress Manjayashree Bhatt.
The immense success of ‘Jhyaai’ has paved the way for Nepali traditional music to reach international levels, and in this excitement, Manjayashree is now set to feature in a new musical project with a famous Bollywood celebrity. Bhatt has mentioned that the new song will also be a Nepali and Bollywood joint presentation.
The song, which was released last year in New York’s Times Square, presented a unique fusion of Nepali and Hindi music, incorporating the main part of the Nepali folk song ‘Jhyaai Paryo Malai Ratyouli Ko Jhikele Jhyaai Paryo’.
Born and raised in America, Manjayashree and popular Bollywood singer Dev Negi’s voices brought together Nepali and Indian music lovers on a shared musical journey.
This song helped introduce Manjayashree in both India and Nepal. The song has accumulated over 84 million views on YouTube and has trended worldwide.
Addressing Nepali listeners and viewers, singer Manjayashree said, “Just as Nepali and Indian audiences around the world showed love for ‘Jhyaai’, I believe my upcoming projects will receive the same support and encouragement. I want to express my deep love to all Nepali audiences.” According to Bhatt, the upcoming project is being made with the aim of taking the fusion of Nepali and Bollywood music to new heights.
The music video for ‘Jhyaai’ was directed by Bollywood’s experienced cinematographer and director Vinod Pradhan, who has worked on super-hit Bollywood films such as ‘Devdas’ and ‘Rang De Basanti’. Pradhan has also worked on Nepali films like ‘Kusume Rumal’ and ‘Samjhana’. Director Pradhan shared that working on this music video, which was a fusion of Nepali and Hindi music, was a very new and exciting experience. He said, “This was my first time working on a fusion of Nepali and Hindi songs. Nepali audiences really liked it.”
‘Jhyaai’ was filmed at the grand Imperial Palace in Mumbai. The song’s sound engineering, mixing, and mastering were done by Rahul Sharma, who has worked on renowned projects with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dharma Productions. The choreography was done by Bosco Caesar, who has worked on dance direction for movies like ‘Pathaan’ and ‘War’.
