‘Hostel 3’ Advance Ticket Booking Opens, Massive Opening Projected

As the release date of the Nepali film Hostel 3 approaches, advance ticket booking has opened across the country.

Nepal’s largest multiplex chain, QFX Cinemas, has allocated around 80 shows, while the second-largest chain, INI Cinemas, has 15 shows, One Cinemas has 9 shows, Big Movies has 5 shows, F Cube Cinema has 5 shows, and BSR Cinemas has 4 shows.

As of Wednesday evening, around 120 shows had been booked in advance, and by Thursday afternoon, the number is expected to reach around 250 shows. Based on the number of shows allocated by theaters, the film is projected to have a massive opening.

The previous two installments of the Hostel franchise were box office hits, and this has led to expectations that the third installment will also receive a strong audience response.

This film is targeted primarily at the youth, who form the core audience of Nepali cinema. With Hostel 3 generating positive hype through its trailer and promotions, theater owners anticipate strong box office performance, leading them to allocate a large number of shows in advance.

Following the release of the film’s trailer, its buzz grew rapidly. Within six hours of release, it entered YouTube’s trending list, and within 21 hours, it had amassed over 1 million views. As of now, the trailer has surpassed 2.1 million views and remains the top-trending video in the film section in Nepal.

Additionally, it has trended in over 20 countries, including India, the UK, Japan, Korea, and several Middle Eastern nations. The film even managed to trend within the vast Indian film industry, marking a historic achievement.

The production team has been aggressively promoting the film across digital platforms, social media, news outlets, and various events, which has generated a positive response from theater owners. Moreover, the film features a fresh cast of young actors, which is expected to attract audiences looking for something new. Additionally, the presence of popular digital-era celebrities in the film is likely to draw their fanbase to theaters.

Directed by Sushan Kandel, the film stars Paras Bam Thakuri, Simran Pant, Ashish Ghimire, Padam Tamang, Hena Nagarkoti, Rihan Giri, and Sama Parajuli in key roles. Actor Praveen Khatiwada plays the role of the warden, while Ashish Purush, Rohan Shrestha, Umar Khan, and Santosh Baniya are also part of the cast.

The film’s story is written by Madhav Sharma, who also serves as the associate director. The producers include Suresh Kandel, Karna Karki, and Govinda Adhikari, while Shishir Gyawali, Anish Sigdel, Kundan Gupta, and Ganesh Magar are co-producers. Shankar Koirala is the executive producer, and Kosis Raj Kshetri is the line producer.

The cinematography is handled by Arjun Tiwari, while Vikas Dahal has done the editing. The action director is Himal KC, and the music has been composed by Arjun Pokharel, Almoda Rana Uprety, Mahesh Gyawali, and Kiran Michael. The production design is by Yam Oli, and the choreography has been done by Praveen Singh and Roshan Bishwokarma.

The film’s distribution in the Kathmandu Valley will be handled by Kafia Films (Govinda Shahi), while RR Films (Rohit Kattel, Ratna Shrestha) will oversee distribution outside the valley.
