‘Hostel 3’ Hits Theatres Nationwide

‘Hostel 3’ has been released nationwide.

Directed by Sashan Kandel, this film has secured over 200 shows across the country. The theatres had opened advance bookings from Wednesday, and although the theatres weren’t fully sold out by Friday morning, the audience turnout has been encouraging. Looking at the show and booking data for the release of ‘Non Holiday,’ distributors have indicated that the film’s business is picking up pace.

The previous two installments of the ‘Hostel’ franchise were successful at the box office, so this movie was highly anticipated. Targeting the youth audience, it is expected that this film will attract the main audience demographic of Nepali cinema.

The movie features popular faces of the digital age, with Paras Bam Thakuri, Simran Pant, Ashish Ghimeri, Padam Tamang, Hena Nagarkoti, Rihan Giri, Sama Parajuli, and others in lead roles. Praveen Khatiwada plays the role of the warden. Ashish Purush, Rohan Shrestha, Umar Khan, and Santosh Baniya also appear in the film.

The release of its songs and trailer increased its buzz. The trailer trended on YouTube within 6 hours of its release and garnered 1 million views in 21 hours. As of now, this trailer holds the top spot in Nepal’s film section on YouTube, and it has trended in over 20 countries, including India, the UK, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, and more. The film has made history by entering the trending section of the Indian film industry.

Madhav Sharma wrote the screenplay and dialogues and is also the associate director. The film’s producers are Suresh Kandel, Karn Karki, and Govind Adhikari, with co-producers Shishir Ghawali, Anish Sigdel, Kundan Gupta, and Ganesh Magar. Shankar Koirala is the executive producer, and Kosis Raj Kshetri is the line producer.

The film’s cinematography was directed by Arjun Tiwari, and the editing was done by Dinesh Dahal. Himal KC is the action director.

The music is composed by Arjun Pokharel, Almora Rana Upreti, Mahesh Ghawali, and Kiran Michael. The production design was done by Yam Oli, while the dance choreography was done by Praveen Singh and Roshan Bishwokarma.

The distribution in Kathmandu Valley was handled by Kaphya Films (Govind Shahi), and outside the Valley, RR Films (Rohit Kattel, Ratna Shrestha) managed the distribution.
