‘Pitambar’ Will Make Audience Enjoy By Forgetting Stress, With Applause, Whistling, And Cheers – Krisha

Director Krisha Chaulagain is set to bring her second film, ‘Pitambar,’ following her directorial debut, ‘Aincho Paincho.’ The film has already been announced for release on Chaitra 29.

Krisha had conceptualized ‘Pitambar’ even before ‘Aincho Paincho.’ However, since ‘Pitambar’ was a large-scale project, she decided to start with a smaller format film first. “Because ‘Aincho Paincho’ was my first directorial venture, I wanted to see how audiences and the film industry would react. Since everyone appreciated it, I then worked with different writers to develop the script for ‘Pitambar,’” said Krisha.

Krisha describes ‘Pitambar’ as a full-fledged action film. At a time when fewer action films are being made, she believes audiences will find something fresh in her film. “Action films require more time and money, which is why many filmmakers hesitate to take the risk. ‘Pitambar’ will also be a new experience for Pradeep Khadka. The film will fulfill the audience’s wish to see him in a fully action-packed avatar,” she added.

Why did Krisha prioritize an action film? Many might be curious. “For a long time, films have been focused on particular themes. Some argue that we should prioritize local stories, and we have been working in that direction as well. But I wanted to create a film that goes beyond imagination, where the maker has full creative freedom. ‘Pitambar’ is that project,” said Krisha.

Krisha does not claim ‘Pitambar’ to be a unique story, but she is confident that audiences will walk away entertained. “There are very few films these days that make audiences whistle, cheer, and enjoy. After watching ‘Pitambar,’ people will leave the theater with a sense of excitement,” she expressed.

She further revealed that ‘Pitambar’ has been shot using three cameras, a first in Nepal. “We have brought in many technical innovations that have never been used before in Nepal. Audiences will get their money’s worth,” she said.

While developing the story, Krisha had Pradeep Khadka in mind. “Our story revolves around a star. That’s why we prioritized an actor who is already popular among audiences and known for his strong performances,” she explained.

Krisha wanted to present Pradeep in a different look. “I was looking for an actor with an Aryan look, light facial hair, and strong acting skills. Pradeep had all three qualities, so we prioritized him,” she said.

To prepare for the role, Pradeep underwent special coaching for action sequences. “When we talk about action films, people immediately think of six-pack abs. But if someone in our home faces injustice, we don’t decide to take revenge based on whether we have six-pack abs or not. Our blood still boils. I told Pradeep that he didn’t need a six-pack, but he had to train for fights and become aggressive in action sequences,” Krisha explained.

‘Pitambar’ has primarily been shot in the Terai region. “The story is driven by human emotions, so location doesn’t make much difference. However, shooting near the border made it easier to acquire technical equipment from India,” she said.

Krisha has always been inclined towards action films. “The energy, enthusiasm, and cinematic scale of action films are unmatched. That’s why I have always been drawn to this genre,” she added.

For Krisha, ‘Pitambar’ is not just a film, but a ‘tapasya’ (dedicated endeavor). She is thrilled by the positive response to the teaser and songs and is now preparing to release the trailer. “Once the audience watches the trailer, I am confident they will decide to watch the film,” she stated.

During filming, managing the schedules of all the lead actors was one of the biggest challenges. “I was present during every action sequence. Bringing all three main characters together in one frame was difficult. Ensuring that each actor performed to their fullest potential was a major task. But in the end, ‘Pitambar’ has turned out exactly the way I envisioned,” Krisha concluded.
