The debut directorial film ‘Basanta’ by singer and actor Prakash Saput has released a new poster. On Thursday, coinciding with the occasion of Fagu Purnima (Holi), the poster featuring the two main actors of the film, singer Saput and actress Swastima Khadka, was made public.
In the released poster, Prakash and Swastima, who are on their way to college, are shown in a romantic pose on the road. While releasing the poster, director and actor Saput wrote, “Just as the various colors of nature signify the arrival of the spring season, in the same way, the film ‘Basanta’ has been created by incorporating the various colors of society. Among these colors, the most beautiful one is the color of love. ‘Basanta’ is created with the beautiful color of love. Just like the rhododendron flowers that bloom in the spring season, I wish everyone a colorful festival of Fagu.”
The film, set to release simultaneously in Nepal and abroad on Chaitra 22, features performances by Prakash Saput, Swastima Khadka, Prabhat Pal Thakuri, Shri Shivansi, Urmila Lamgade, Khadak Bahadur Pun (Khabapu), Anup Baral, Kamalmani Nepal, and Prakash Ghimire, among other actors.
Presented by Galbandi Productions, the social drama film is directed by Saput, who has also written the story, screenplay, and music for the film. The movie portrays the struggle of a boy from the impoverished Vishwakarma community who dreams of becoming a writer and aims to fulfill that goal. The producers of the film are Mohan Vishwakarma and Bindu Bohora, with executive producers Anurudh Bhattarai, Nana Thakali, and Birendra Narayan Shrestha.
The film was shot in various locations, including Baglung, Kathmandu, and the Terai regions, which are the birthplaces of director and singer Prakash Saput. The debut directorial film by Saput was cinematographed by Susan Prajapati. The film will be distributed by DCN in the Kathmandu Valley and FD Company in the regions outside the valley.
