Classic Diamond Announces Fifth Season of ‘Face of Classic Diamond’

Nepal’s renowned jewelry brand, Classic Diamond, has announced the fifth season of its competition, Face of Classic Diamond.

During a press conference held today in Kathmandu, Classic Diamond’s chairman, Babu Raja Maherjan, informed that the event will take place on January 18 and 19, 2024.

According to him, the winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of NPR 150,000 along with the title of Face of Classic Diamond and will serve as the brand ambassador for a year. The winner will also get the opportunity to showcase their talent in Bollywood.

Registration for the competition opened today. Maherjan highlighted the achievements of previous winners, mentioning that Samragyee RL Shah has established herself in Nepali cinema, Anjali Lama participated in New York Fashion Week, and Muna Gauchan has made her mark in Bollywood.

“Since Classic Diamond is related to jewelry, we have been promoting Nepal’s fashion and modeling sector through this event,” he said.

Amir Maherjan, the managing director of Classic Diamond, announced that auditions for the competition will be held in Kathmandu and Pokhara. “After the auditions in Nepal, we will provide the selected models with about a month of training. Following this, we will showcase the top ten contestants at the Classic Diamond Fashion and Jewelry Show,” he added.

Classic Diamond, which also operates three outlets in the United States, will hold auditions for Nepali models residing there. Samir Maherjan, the U.S. coordinator for Classic Diamond, mentioned that two selected models will be brought to Nepal to participate in the Face of Classic Diamond competition. “While others send models from Nepal to America, we will bring two Nepali models from the U.S. to compete in this event,” he explained.

The winner of Face of Classic Diamond will receive NPR 150,000, the first runner-up will get NPR 100,000, and the second runner-up will be awarded NPR 50,000. All winners will also have the opportunity to work on various projects with Classic Diamond.

The grand fashion and jewelry show is scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2024, in Kathmandu, where the winners will be awarded.

Bollywood choreographer Rehan Shah will choreograph the competition. During Thursday’s press conference, former Miss Nepal Malvika Subba stated that the Face of Classic Diamond competition has brought many talented models into the industry.

She noted that several winners and participants have gone on to compete in Miss Nepal and other competitions, winning titles.

Another former Miss Nepal, Asmi Shrestha, expressed her happiness about participating in the Face of Classic Diamond competition. She stated that the competition refines new models and helps them enter the modeling industry after about six months of preparation. International model Savita Karki also shared her experiences with the Face of Classic Diamond at the press conference.
