Director Rishi Raj Acharya of the film Draupadi, which is set to release this Friday, has stated that rather than any particular actor, the content itself is the hero of the movie.
Returning to Kathmandu after promoting the film in various regions, director Acharya seemed excited by the audience’s response. He visited cities like Butwal, Dang, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, and Chitwan, where he directly engaged with the audience and expressed his enthusiasm over their feedback.
“The audience told us, We watched your trailer, and it deeply touched us. Some even said, We will reserve vehicles to come and watch it. Hearing such responses has made me extremely happy. Draupadi is releasing on Chaitra 8, and we are doing our best to reach as many viewers as possible,” he said.
Acharya is not only the director of this film but also its producer, writer, and lead actor.
Through Draupadi, three new faces—Rabi Oad, Ashwini Shahi, and Sujata Timalsina—are making their debut in the Nepali film industry. Rabi is the winner of Nepal Idol Season 2, while Ashwini Shahi is known as a model.
Director Acharya claims that although his lead actors are new, they have delivered outstanding performances in the film.
“They may be new, but they have done a great job. Even though they are newcomers to the big screen, they are well-trained and refined talents whom I have given an opportunity. The main focus should not be on who the actors are, but rather on the content itself. ‘Draupadi’ is a film where content is the real hero,” Acharya stated.
