Nepali cinema’s successful producer and director Ashok Sharma’s daughter, Kriti Sharma, has made her acting debut. The music video featuring her acting, titled “Riting Rai Rai,” was released on Thursday during an event.

Speaking at the song release event, producer and director Ashok Sharma shared that his daughter Kriti surprised him by acting in this music video. He said, “I am someone who prefers to work behind the scenes rather than in front of the cinema screen. She had previously worked as an assistant director in films like ‘Panifoto’ and ‘Rato Tika Nidharma.’ If I had known she wanted to act, I would have made her debut in my film.”

The music video, directed and acted by model Sunil Kshetri, features the vocals of singers Basant Thapa and Elina Chauhan. The lyrics of the song were written by renowned lyricist Rajendra Thapa. The choreography was done by Abhi Bagle, and the song also features the acting of Surveer Pandit. Debut actress Kriti Sharma mentioned that she agreed to act in the music video because she liked the offer from model and director Sunil Kshetri, and because they shared a good rapport.

Kriti Sharma shared that acting in a music video for the first time was an enjoyable experience, but since it was a dancing number, she found the dance a bit uncomfortable. She said that if she receives good offers for music videos in the future, she would continue acting. At the same time, she also mentioned that her dream is to direct films, and she would equally focus on that.

The video, shot by Navraj Upreti, was edited and color-graded by Amrit Chapagai.
