The Film Workers Welfare Fund, which has been working for the welfare of underprivileged and distressed film workers, has provided financial assistance for the first time to those affected by the floods.
According to Dinesh DC, Chairman of the Film Development Board, and Basundhara Bhusal, Chairperson of the Film Workers Welfare Fund, each affected film worker has been provided with relief worth NPR 45,000. In the past, the fund has only supported seriously ill and economically weak film workers, but this time it made a historic decision to assist film workers affected by natural disasters.
Under this initiative, relief has been provided to members of the Nepal Film Artists Association, Nepal Film Technicians Association, and Nepal Film Stunt Artists Association, including Yadav Sitaula, Shivprasad Cholagai, Santu Tamang, Kul Prasad Humagain, Gokul Humagain, Gyan Bahadur Tamang, and Phanindra Bahadur Bik.
Dinesh DC, Chairman of the Film Development Board, stated that the board will continue to remain active for the welfare of film workers. He said, “The Film Development Board is always sensitive to solving the problems of film workers. It is our responsibility to provide assistance to those affected by natural disasters.”
Basundhara Bhusal, Chairperson of the Film Workers Welfare Fund, expressed her commitment to continue the relief distribution program, saying, “The welfare fund will continue to fulfill its responsibility for the safety of workers in the film industry.”
This significant step by the Film Workers Welfare Fund for the welfare and safety of workers in the Nepalese film industry is commendable.
