‘Anjila’ Earns Rs. 8.70 Crore in 13 Days

The Nepali film Anjila, which has been a superhit at the domestic box office, has grossed Rs. 8.70 crore in its 13-day theatrical run. According to distributor Karan Shrestha, this collection is based on reports received from theaters across the country as of the second Tuesday of its release.

Producer Prem Kumar Shrestha stated that the film’s performance in its second week has been as expected. He said, “The film is performing just as we had anticipated. The love and support from the audience have given us more encouragement. We expect it to continue doing well in the coming weeks.”

Director Milan Chams expressed his happiness over Anjila‘s success. “Nepali audiences have once again proven their love for good cinema. The film’s strong storytelling, presentation, and outstanding performances have drawn viewers to theaters. We are hopeful for even better results in the coming days,” he said. Anjila is set to release in 16 countries worldwide. Based on Nepal’s positive response, overseas distributors have also shown interest in the film, the director added.

This film is based on the life of Nepal women’s national football team captain Anjila Tumbapo Subba, who has played the lead role herself. The movie portrays her journey from childhood to her struggles and achievements in her football career. Alongside Anjila, the film features performances by Prem Kumar Shrestha, Sunil Thapa, Dayahang Rai, Vijay Baral, Srijana Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Sumin Gurung, and Buddhi Tamang.

Entering its third week from Thursday, the film continues to receive love from the audience and is performing well at the box office.
