Movie ‘Dori’ Hits Theatres

The Nepali movie ‘Dori’ has been released in cinemas across Nepal from today. It has been released with approximately 120 shows nationwide, including screenings in Kathmandu Valley and other major cinema markets.

 

Due to recent protests, the bookings for both newly released and currently running movies have not been very encouraging. However, it is expected that audiences will visit theaters in the evening after the protests subside.

 

The Central Film Censorship Board has granted a ‘PG’ certificate to ‘Dori,’ meaning children under 16 can only watch it with parental guidance.

 

Director Arun Lama stated that ‘Dori’ blends social narratives with humor, thrill, and horror elements. He believes that the story will resonate with audiences as it reflects various aspects of real life.

 

Arun Lama has written and directed the movie, and he also plays the lead role. The film features actors such as Pravin Khatiwada, Shishir Bangdel, Prakash Ghimire, Anjana Baraili, Raj Poudel, Kavita Ale, Nutan, Raj Thapa, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Sharda Adhikari, Prem Subba, Sajan Shrestha, and Rambabu Regmi, among others.

 

The movie is produced by Dinesh Bhattarai, with Raj Thapa serving as the executive producer. The script doctor is Manoj Pandit, while Dinesh Bahadur Rawat is the chief assistant director. Other key crew members include action director Raju Tamang, music director Rajanraj Siwakoti, cinematographer Saurabh Lama, art director Roshan Diwana, editor Milan Shrestha, and colorist Renish Phago.
