
The lead actress of the super hit Nepali film “Anjila” and captain of the national women’s football team, Angela Tumbapo Subba, arrived in Kathmandu on Friday morning. She landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 10 am on a Qatar Airways flight to promote the film based on her own life.
Angela, who arrived from Greece for a four-day stay in Nepal, was warmly welcomed by the film’s team. On Friday, she will be visiting various cinemas in the Kathmandu Valley to meet the audience, as directed by Milan Chams. Angela will stay in Kathmandu on Saturday and then visit cinemas in Eastern and Western Nepal starting Sunday. She will be interacting with audiences in cinemas in Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Birtamod, Dharan, Itahari, Chitwan, and Dang, as informed by Chams.
Producer Premkumar Shrestha mentioned that Angela’s visit is purely for the promotion of the film. Currently, Angela is playing in the top division women’s football league in Greece for Nis Atromitos. She has been in Greece for several months for this league and will return after completing the promotion.
The film presents Angela’s struggles and successes from her childhood to her sports career. Alongside Angela, actors like Premkumar Shrestha, Sunil Thapa, Dayahang Rai, Vijay Baral, Srijana Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Sumeen Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, and others also feature in the film.
Since entering its third week of release, the film has grossed 8.7 crore rupees in 13 days. The film has been well-received by the audience and is consistently performing well at the box office.
