
Jason Lopchan, a young director from Nepal, has been selected for the world-renowned Busan Asian Film School. The school selects only 18 young filmmakers from across Asia each year to receive a scholarship. These selected participants will stay in Busan, South Korea, and collaborate with international producers to develop their films.
Recently, Jason made headlines in Nepal for creating the country’s first iPhone-shot film. He is currently residing in Busan, South Korea.
During his 8-month stay at the film school, Jason will work closely with international producers to prepare his second film. According to him, the script and entire production will take place in Busan, while the shooting is planned for 2026 in Nepal.
His debut film, “A Place Under the Sun,” is currently available on MSM Video. He previously directed the music video for Mayor Balen Shah’s hit song “Marpha Ko Madira.”
