Actor Aashish Piya, who made his debut in the Nepali film industry with the movie Summer Love—based on Subin Bhattarai’s popular novel of the same name—is set to make a comeback to the big screen. Five years after the release of Summer Love, he is returning to Nepali cinema with Amigos.
The romantic film Amigos, featuring Piya in the lead role, will be shot in Nepal and Australia starting this upcoming Bhadra (August–September). The film is written and directed by Markende Dipwim Basnet (Marku), who is also making a comeback to Nepali cinema as a writer and director after nearly a decade. He previously wrote and directed Saurya and Dravya.
The film will be produced under the banner of BS International Studio by Vikas Acharya, who is making his debut as a film producer. Surendra Rawal will serve as the co-producer. About 70 percent of the film will be shot in Australia, and the remaining 30 percent in Nepal.
According to the production team, casting is currently underway to select two lead actors. Besides Ashish, one more lead actor and one lead actress will be finalized within a few days.
