The release date for the film ‘‘Pahaad’’ directed by Tulsi Ghirmire has been set.

The film will be released on the day after the festival of Tihar, which falls on the 7th of Kartik. The story of the film highlights the emptying of the hills due to the migration of the youth abroad and the resulting social and economic problems. Director Ghirmire, who is also the writer, stated that the film will present the bitter realities of society to the audience.

He added, “We have decided the release date after discussions with distributors. In addition to securing the right time for both domestic and international release, we have also set the date after assessing the remaining work to be completed. As the film’s subject matter is family-oriented, we have chosen a time for release when families can go and watch it together.”

The film was shot over 36 days in Gorkha, Nepal, and the remaining 10 days of shooting will take place in Mumbai, India, as per Director Ghirmire’s information. After working on projects like ‘Balidan’ with Madan Krishna Shrestha and ‘Chino’ with Sunil Thapa, Director Ghirmire is confident that collaborating with both new and old artists will yield great results. He mentioned that, just like with veteran actors, he has received equal dedication from the new talent for their characters and roles.

He stated, “The film captures the story of the high hills that have become uninhabited, highlighting our duties and the needs of the country. The audience will be able to find their own story and identity through the film. I am excited to work with both new and veteran artists.”

The film is being produced by Ozashwi KC and cinematographed by Pramod Pradhan. Pradhan, who has already worked on films, web series, and TV films in India, has collaborated with Director Ghirmire on projects like ‘Anyay,’ ‘Koseli,’ ‘Chino,’ and ‘Dakshina.’

The film is being made under the banner of Bhagyaratna Films Pvt. Ltd. and stars Vipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Renunath Yogi, Arun Kshetri, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Salona Bajracharya, and others.

Director Ghirmire is introducing his younger daughter, Panchami Ghirmire, as an actress in this film. Additionally, the film’s production designer is Ghirmire’s elder daughter, Bhawana Ghirmire.

The music director of the film is Ranjit Gajmer, and Bharti Ghirmire is the creative director. The film will be distributed in Nepal by Vaingatesh Entertainment and Seven Seas International Films abroad. The publicity design has been done by Royal Bhimsen and Trident Concepts.
