An 18D cinema based on cutting-edge technology has been launched at Kathmandu’s City Center.
On the special occasion of the Nepali New Year, the cinema was officially inaugurated by superstar Rajesh Hamal by cutting the ribbon. Hamal, who attended the opening ceremony, also experienced the 18D cinema himself.
Speaking to the press, he said, “With 18D technology, it felt like I was actually part of every scene. I’ve never had such a thrilling experience before.”
The cinema, located on the third floor of City Center, can accommodate only 10 viewers at a time. Operated by Ram Thapa and Himal Gurung of Flyover Entertainment, the cinema offers an immersive experience through a combination of visuals, sound, motion, wind, and vibration—making the audience feel as if they’ve entered the world of the film.
According to operator Gurung, viewers can enjoy exciting and adventurous short films ranging from 5 to 30 minutes, such as journeys through the dinosaur era, deep-sea explorations, space battles, and jungle adventures.
Launched with the belief of adding a new dimension to entertainment in Kathmandu, this 18D cinema is expected to become a thrilling destination for viewers of all age groups.
To enjoy this state-of-the-art cinematic experience, viewers will need to pay an entry fee of 300 rupees.
