The Nepali film K Ghar K Dera: Ghar No. 2 is set for release on Shrawan 2. With the teaser recently unveiled, the production team has officially confirmed the film’s theatrical debut on this date.

Directed by Dipendra K. Khanal, the film has generated significant curiosity among audiences. Some viewers have drawn parallels between the teaser and the much-acclaimed Pashupati Prasad, sparking conversations in the film community.

A pressing question remains—Is K Ghar K Dera: Ghar No. 2 a sequel to the film released two years ago, or is it an entirely new story? While the title suggests a continuation, the teaser offers no clear indication of a sequel.

Director Dipendra K. Khanal, however, has clarified the matter:

“This is not a sequel to K Ghar K Dera,” he states. “While the film does touch on the themes of home and rent, the storyline is completely new. It’s an original narrative with no connection to the previous film.”

While the first K Ghar K Dera leaned toward comedy, Khanal describes Ghar No. 2 as a social drama.

“This film carries my original creative flavor,” he explains. “It reflects my vision for socially grounded storytelling. Through this film, I return to the genre that resonates most with my identity as a filmmaker.”

The script was penned by celebrated author Buddhisagar, known for acclaimed novels such as Karnali Blues, Eklō, and Phirphire. This marks his debut as a screenwriter.

The cast features prominent names such as Khagendra Lamichhane, Nischal Basnet, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Aryan Sigdel, Keki Adhikari, Prakash Ghimire, Srijana Napit, Sanjog Rasaili, Rubina Ghimire, and Suraj Bishwakarma.

The film is produced under the banners of Apple Entertainment, A Plus Entertainment, and Natraj Creation. Cinematography is by Krishna Bahadur Thapa, with producers Nakim Uddin, Sharad Shrestha, and Kiran Maharjan. Yubaraj Karki serves as the executive producer.
