The much-anticipated Nepali film Woolen Sweater, which is set for worldwide release on Baisakh 26, has already stirred excitement among audiences through its song Kafle. This song has gone viral across short video platforms like TikTok, Facebook–Insta Reels, and YouTube Shorts to the point where its melody seems to echo with every swipe.
The powerful voices of Jhuma Limbu and Sujan Chapagain, music by Jhuma herself, and lyrics by Yubaraj Kafle have made this song a favorite among millions. Within a short time of its release, the official music video has garnered over 1.2 million views on YouTube. On TikTok alone, more than 50,000 users have created videos using the song.
During the song’s launch event, singers Limbu and Chapagain performed it live, drawing widespread attention. The song has become one of the trending tracks in the Nepali film industry.
Meanwhile, the film’s production company, Artmandu, has embraced the current digital trends by introducing the characters through short video platforms. For the first time, character introductions of a film’s cast have been made public via TikTok, Facebook–Insta Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
The film first introduces the main characters Pariksha Limbu and Alex Paras dancing in the Kafle song. In the film, Pariksha and Alex play the roles of Dambar Kafle and Eksha Limbu from Nawamidanda, Panchthar. However, the official music video features renowned actors Bipin Karki and Miruna Magar.
While sharing glimpses of the characters, Artmandu stated, “Through this glimpse, we believe your curiosity and affection for the characters of Woolen Sweater will only grow. We look forward to your companionship on this warm and creative journey.”
Regarding the adoption of a new method for character introduction, Woolen Sweater’s director Naveen Chauhan said that embracing new technology is a necessity today. He added, “The character introduction videos we released in this new format have already been viewed by millions in a short time and have been very well received. Our new approach has been accepted smoothly. Had we introduced the characters through posters alone, perhaps it wouldn’t have reached such a wide audience so quickly. Embracing new technology is essential nowadays.”
On the eve of the film’s release, the song Kafle has further heightened the audience’s excitement for Woolen Sweater.
