
‘Karki Saila’ has officially commenced with a muhurat ceremony. On Monday, the production team organized a script worship ritual at Mahadevsthan, Koteshwor, to mark the auspicious beginning of the film. Lead actors Jitu Nepal and Barsha Siwakoti gave the inaugural muhurat shot, officially kicking off the filming.
During the muhurat, Janakdeep Parajuli called the “Action–Cut,” while producer Sushil Pokharel clapped the board. Dambar Bahadur Rai turned on the camera, and actor-producer Ugrasan Dhungana broke a coconut and performed the camera worship ritual.
The film is being produced under the banner of Karna Bahadur Films Pvt. Ltd., with Rajendra Basnet directing. The film is presented by Krishna Bhagat Chamling and produced by Balkumar Rai. Raju Kiranti will serve as the action director, Babul Giri as the music composer, Kamal Rai as the choreographer, Jeevan Nath Gautam as the lyricist and chief assistant director, and Ajit Lamichhane as the screenwriter and dialogue writer.
Along with Barsha and Jitu, the film will also feature performances by Geeta Adhikari, Mansi Sharma, Shyam Magar, and Manil Tamang. The story of the film centers around rural life. Director Basnet shared that the film will portray “the story of common people,” with the main character being a porter.
According to the production team, filming is set to begin on Baisakh 20 (early May) at various locations in the Dhankuta district. The casting process for other roles is currently underway.
