Dhiraj Magar Joins Ashok Thapa Magar’s Upcoming Film Jalaki

Actor Dhiraj Magar has joined the film Jalaki, which is being directed by Ashok Thapa Magar. Director Ashok and Dhiraj are collaborating for the second time on Jalaki. Previously, they had worked together on last year’s hit film Khushma.

According to the production team, the first phase of shooting, which began from Kalika Temple in Baglung, has recently been completed. Director Ashok Thapa Magar shared that Dhiraj will join the set once the second phase of filming begins.

Based on a triangular love story, Jalaki features Dhiraj alongside Sonam Topden, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Astitwa Bhattachan, and Aakriti Rajbhandari in lead roles. For model Aakriti Rajbhandari, Jalaki marks her debut film.

‘Jalaki’, considered a symbol of memory and love, refers to a symbolic stone pillar that holds cultural and spiritual significance for the Magar community. The film will be shot in three phases, in locations including Rukum, Myagdi, Baglung, Pokhara, and also South Korea. It aims to highlight the culture of the Magar and Gurung communities.

Under the banner of M Media Pvt. Ltd., the film is being produced by Om Ghartimagar, Bir Bahadur Lama, Chandra Bahadur Bhattachan, Betane Magar (Babita Rana), Man Bahadur Dhanah Magar, and Sushmita Budhathoki. The cast also includes Mao Tse Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Sangita Thapa Magar, Raju Regmi Magar, and Khadka Bahadur Pun (Khabpu).

The film’s cinematography is by Shailendra D. Kaki, Raju Regmi Magar is the line producer, Mahesh Baral is the chief assistant director, and the music is by SD Yogi and Sarit Rai. The lyrics are penned by Surendra Rana and Ram Aviral Bista. Director Ashok Thapa Magar’s debut film Khushma featured the song Rukum Maikot, which made history by reaching 100 million views on YouTube within five months.
