
The character poster of Nepali feature film Eklo’s actress Diya Pun has been released. The poster was made public today on the occasion of Matatirtha Aunsi, the traditional Mother’s Day in Nepal.
Sharing the poster on social media, director Pradeep Shahi wrote, “Today, we proudly present our very own Diya Pun — a talented actress who also possesses incredible courage, having summited Mount Everest. On this Mother’s Day, it is the perfect opportunity to honor her portrayal of a devoted and loving mother in the film. Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. Let us love, cherish, and respect our mothers not only today but every day of their lives.”
The film, based on a science fiction theme, introduces Diya Pun’s character under the name “Astronaut Pun” in the poster.
The film is directed by Pradeep Shahi, marking his third directorial venture. Residing in the United Kingdom for a long time, Shahi is preparing Eklo with the ambition of achieving Hollywood-level standards. Currently, the film is undergoing post-production work in London.
Recently, director Shahi was selected for the Cannes Producers Network, and with his selection, the buzz surrounding Eklo has significantly grown.
Eklo features performances from Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kavita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Trichu Rai, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Diggaj Khatri, Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’, Shrishes Shrestha, along with child artists Jemin Shrestha and Syon Sabik Singh, as well as British actor Jamie Bacon.
The producers of Eklo are Rajukumar Gurung, Hari Shrestha, Bishnu Tamang, Utsav Bista, Bhairaja Thapa, Navin Siva, and Bagbir Pun, with Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’ serving as the executive producer.
With cinematography by Babu Shrestha, the film features action direction by Raju Tamang, set design by Raju Painter, art direction by Santosh Lama, and production design by Dron Prasad Paudel ‘Theuke’.
