‘Jaar’ Team Departs for Sikkim for World Premiere

 The team behind the film Jaar, which is set to release publicly on May 9 (Baisakh 26), has departed for Sikkim for its world premiere. The delegation, including director Phurba Tsering Lama, executive producer Trilochan Pandey, actors Saugat Malla and Anoop Bikram Shahi, and singer-composer Jhuma Limbu, left for Sikkim on Tuesday morning.

The world premiere of the film will take place this Wednesday in Gangtok, Sikkim. According to director Lama, the grand event will be attended by prominent figures from the fields of cinema, literature, politics, business, and social work. A second premiere is scheduled for May 3 in Siliguri. The cast and production team will watch the film with local audiences and well-wishers and gather their feedback. A promotional event is also planned in Darjeeling.

The film is based on a historical story by renowned literary figure Indra Bahadur Rai. Alongside Saugat Malla and Anoop Bikram Shahi, National Award-winning Indian actress Geetanjali Thapa plays a major role.

The film’s cinematography is by Saravanan Elavarasu, with editing by Akhilesh Rai. Jar has been produced in collaboration with Hope Reels, LA Seven Shorts, Baral Studio, and Kewa Production. The executive producers are Neeraj Rai, Nursang Bhutia, Jyoti Kshetri, and Pema Rinzing Lepcha.
