Advance Booking Opens for Film ‘Jhilko’

 Advance booking has opened for the Nepali film ‘Jhilko’, which is set to release this Friday. The film revolves around a sensitive story depicting the serious impact of uncontrolled use of technology in today’s digital age on children’s lives, family relationships, and social well-being. Ticket sales have started in cinemas across the country.

The film’s trailer presents a story focused on issues such as family breakdown caused by smartphone addiction, parental negligence, and the growing gap between parents and children. Ayushi Dhakal delivers a compelling performance as a young girl trapped in smartphone addiction. The cast also includes Sunil Pokharel, Barsha Siwakoti, Bishal Pokharel, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Janvi Basnet, Jenish Shrestha, and Jebish Shrestha.

Yadav Kumar Bhattarai, who previously directed the historic and socially impactful film ‘Jhola’, has directed this film. Bhattarai stated that he chose this story to emphasize the need for coordination among children, parents, teachers, and policymakers.

Produced under the banner of Media for Culture Pvt. Ltd., the film’s cinematography is by Deepak Bajracharya, editing by Nimesh Shrestha, color and sound mixing by Shyam Kunwar, and sound design by Uttam Neupane. The story and screenplay were jointly written by Yadav Kumar Bhattarai, Arundev Joshi, and Dev Brat.

‘Jhilko’ is executive produced by Umesh Paudel, with Sushila Acharya, Ramgopal Thapa, and Kiran Kumar Acharya as producers. The film has been made in collaboration with Janata Television.

Meanwhile, a grand premiere show of the film was held on Thursday evening in Kathmandu.
