Actress Upasana Singh Thakuri has been signed as the lead in Milan Chams’ upcoming film Sumnima. Based on a love story, the film will be produced in both Nepali and English languages.
With Upasana confirmed in the lead role, auditions have been announced to find her male co-star. It has been stated that individuals between the ages of 20 to 26, currently residing in the UK, are eligible to participate in the audition.
Director Chams shared that the film is being developed with a universal storyline, targeting the international market. “Since the story itself is universal, the film will be made with a focus on international audiences,” said Chams.
Filming will begin in July in both Nepal and the United Kingdom. Jointly produced under the banners of Chams Entertainment and Gorkha Films, Sumnima will be Chams’ 11th directorial project. The film will feature a story and screenplay by Rajiv Thapa.
Chams’ recently directed biopic Anjila has already completed 51 successful days in theaters. With the success of Anjila, Chams now faces the challenge of making his next project even better. Confident in the story and the strength of the team, Chams believes Sumnima will turn out to be an exceptional film. He added that details regarding the film’s technical crew and other team members will be shared at a later date.
