“Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2” – The Role Khagendra Took On Unexpectedly

Actor Khagendra Lamichhane has stated that although Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 features a large ensemble cast, the narrative development and resolution are smooth and problem-free.

He claims that even though the film includes stories of many characters, the storytelling is simple and skillfully handled. Lamichhane said he was surprised to see how naturally each character’s arc landed.

“Since I write myself, I often wonder how to give every character a natural landing when there are many. But in this film, that’s not the case,” he said. “The writer must have done a lot of work, and the director’s input is evident, which is why every character is seamlessly integrated.”

He mentioned that his involvement in the film happened unexpectedly. While he was busy working on the film Biman, director Dipendra K. Khanal told him, “No one else can do this character except you,” which led to his participation. Lamichhane said he likely wouldn’t have agreed had it been another director, emphasizing the unique bond he shares with Dipendra.

“I worked on Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 during the day and continued Biman at night,” he recalled.

Due to time constraints, Lamichhane handed over full responsibility for character development to the director.

“I was under pressure from Biman’s production and couldn’t devote much time to this role,” he said. “I told the director, and he directed and guided me completely—I just followed his lead.”

He recalled working similarly on Dimaag Kharaab, and believes the credit for his performance in both films goes to the directors.

According to Lamichhane, Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 tells the story of homeowners, tenants, and people without a place to call home—something he describes as the film’s most beautiful aspect.

He believes this is why the film will touch everyone’s hearts. The film portrays the struggles of those who migrate from villages to cities, and Lamichhane prefers to call it an “authentic” story.

Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 is set to release on Jestha 2 (May 15). The story is written by renowned writer Buddhi Sagar.

Alongside Khagendra Lamichhane, the film features Nischal Basnet, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Aryan Sigdel, Keki Adhikari, Prakash Ghimire, Srijana Napit, Sanjog Rasaily, Rubina Ghimire, and Suraj Bista, among others.

The film is presented by Apple Entertainment, A Plus Entertainment, and Nataraj Creation.

Cinematography is by Krishna Bahadur Thapa. Yuvraj Karki is the executive producer, and the producers are Nakim Uddin, Sharad Shrestha, and Kiran Maharjan.
