A new poster for the much-anticipated Nepali film Mahabhoj, set to release on Jestha 15 (May 28), has been unveiled with the tagline “The truth never hides.” The poster, released on the eve of the trailer launch, features the film’s three main characters: Dayahang Rai, Aryan Sigdel, and Khagendra Lamichhane.
Designed by Royal Bhimsen of Trident Concept, the poster reflects the social struggles prevalent in Nepali society. Dayahang is seen wearing traditional attire—daura suruwal, dhaka topi, and a garland—with an expression of seriousness and responsibility. Khagendra appears dissatisfied or worried, while Aryan shows signs of uncertainty, fear, or discomfort. The emotions conveyed by all three characters hint at the conflicts, dilemmas, and struggles within the film.
Directed by Dinesh Raut, known for his powerful storytelling with strong social messages, Mahabhoj marks his eighth film. The film is a joint presentation of Clock Work Creation and Picture Frame, with Himal Karki as the producer. The story and screenplay are written by Subedi.
The film features performances by Aryan Sigdel, Dayahang Rai, Khagendra Lamichhane, Anjana Baraili, Gaumaya Gurung, Malika Mahat, Basundhara Bhusal, Mohan Niraula, Buddhi Tamang, Kamalmani Nepal, Pushkar Gurung, Binod Neupane, Abha Aryal, and Birendra Singh Kushwaha.
Mahabhoj is an artistic portrayal of the realities of Nepali society, aiming to give voice to victims of cooperative fraud and exploitation through the cinematic lens.
