The director of Tel Visa, Shankar Ghimire, and actress-producer Richa Ghimire have been accused of fraud.
They are alleged to have deceived people by promising to take them to the United States. The complaint has been filed at the Kathmandu District Police Complex. However, the name of the complainant has not been disclosed by the police.
Shankar and Richa have been living in the United States for a decade, and they also shot the film Tel Visa there.
Currently, they are in Nepal for the film’s release. Neither Shankar nor Richa have commented on the allegations.
The movie is set to release on Mangsir 7.
The film portrays the legal struggles faced by Nepali people who wish to travel to the U.S. The movie features Bipin Karki in a double role, along with actors Varsha Raut, Pooja Chand, and others.
