
A total of 21 individuals were arrested by the police for gambling with property stakes at a public place in Lasondada, Ward No. 11 of Budhanilkantha Municipality in Kathmandu, on Sunday.
The suspects were involved in betting with walnuts, using them as stakes for gambling.
A team from the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, and the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, raided the area at around 14:00 hours Sunday and apprehended 21 individuals.
Police recovered cash amounting to NPR 562,350 (five hundred sixty-two thousand three hundred fifty) and 13 walnuts from the suspects. The arrested individuals were sent to the Boudha Police Station for further investigation and legal action under the offenses of gambling and betting.
