Pradeep Shahi’s dream of bringing Nepali cinema to the international forefront is becoming a reality.
His debut film, Gurkha Beneath The Bravery, now retitled 1915: Legend of the Gurkhas, has been acquired by one of Mexico’s leading distributors.
This milestone will allow the film to be released in over 60 countries, with a Spanish-language version.
While the official release date is yet to be announced, the film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime in the United States, United Kingdom, South Korea, and Taiwan, and is set to release in Australia soon.
Although 1915: Legend of the Gurkhas was a charity project funded and produced with the support of volunteers and generous donors, Shahi noted that budget limitations restricted his ability to fully explore the story’s depth.
However, he confirmed that a sequel is in the works, with more details expected in the next three years.
Shahi expressed immense pride in the film’s current achievements, emphasizing its global reach to over 65 countries.
He also extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported his journey so far.
Fans can look forward to more updates on his upcoming projects, Antim Sanskar and EKLO, as Shahi continues to elevate Nepali cinema on the world stage.
