A new cinema hall, Friends Cinemas, has officially started operations in Butwal from Friday.
With a seating capacity of 222, the hall is located at Singh Complex, Amarpath. Operated by Royal Cine Hub Pvt. Ltd., this hall is a franchise of the popular Friends Cinemas in Dharan.
Three dynamic and successful young entrepreneurs, Ashish Tamang, Pradeep Dhami, and Pushkar Ghimire, have opened this second branch of Friends Cinemas in Butwal as part of the brand’s expansion. According to Ashish Tamang, one of the operators, the hall is equipped with modern technology and offers improved management, services, and affordable options for moviegoers.
To celebrate the launch, ticket prices have been set at NPR 150 for the first week. Morning shows and shows on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will have lower ticket prices compared to other days. The venue, previously known as View Cinemas, will now run under the Friends Cinemas brand, with the capacity to host up to six shows daily. The team has committed to prioritizing Nepali films at the hall.
Along with operating the cinema, the team has quickly established itself in film distribution. Through their distribution company, Kuber Cine Distribution, they have successfully distributed hit movies like Farki Farki, Kushma, and 12 Gaun. They are now set to release movies such as Unko Sweater, Balidan, and Resham Firiri.
The team plans to expand Friends Cinemas to other locations across Nepal and also venture into film production in the future.
