The first phase of filming for the Saurabh Chaudhary-directed movie Karma has been completed.
The shoot, which began in the last week of Mangsir, was carried out in Dang and surrounding areas over a span of 46 days. Now, the film team has shifted its focus to Kathmandu. According to director Chaudhary, the entire shoot is expected to be completed within the next 10 days.
Post-production work, including editing and VFX, is already underway alongside filming. Chaudhary stated, “We are working tirelessly day and night. The shooting will be wrapped up in two weeks, after which we will accelerate post-production. So far, filming has progressed smoothly without any major obstacles.”
Addressing rumors about a possible delay in the movie’s release, Chaudhary clarified, “We request the audience not to believe in false rumors. The project is moving at full speed, and we are committed to releasing the movie on the scheduled date, Chaitra 29.”
Karma features actors Bipin Karki, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Mukunda Bhusal, and Divya Dev Pant in lead roles. This marks the first collaboration between Bipin and Upasana, while Mukunda Bhusal will be seen in a negative role.
The production team has remained tight-lipped about the storyline and has not revealed details about the supporting cast. However, director Chaudhary assured that additional cast members would be announced soon.
An action-drama film, Karma is written by Chaudhary himself. He revealed that Bipin Karki will be seen in an action-packed avatar for the first time in his career.
Produced under the banner of Artistic Entertainment, Karma is being produced by Basanta Lamsal. Even before filming began, the film had already sold its international distribution rights to Seven Seas Cinema.
The cinematography is being handled by Sanjay Lama. Karma is Chaudhary’s third directorial feature film. His previous film, Agastya: Chapter 1, received positive responses from both audiences and critics, raising expectations for Karma.
The movie is set for release on Chaitra 29, aligning with the Nepali New Year celebrations .
