This music video, based on the cultural backdrop of the Bhutanese Nepali community, explores profound emotions of identity, love, and struggle.
Sanumaya highlights the emotional conflicts arising from the lack of identity, the dilemmas between love and career, and the societal challenges faced by the Bhutanese Nepali community. It artistically portrays the cultural significance and social complexities of the community.
Directed by writer and director Vivek Rasaili, the video features performances by Miruna Magar, Deepak Rasaili, and Prem Subba.
Miruna Magar plays the role of a Bhutanese Nepali woman torn between her love and her career. Her character vividly brings to life the anguish of losing one’s identity and the personal struggles it entails.
Sanumaya delves deeply and emotionally into the cultural traditions, love, and circumstances of lost identity faced by the Bhutanese Nepali community. The video’s storyline and musical composition effectively immerse the audience into the emotional journey of its characters.
The executive producer of the video is Vijay Basyal, with Rezon Thapa as the chief assistant director and Ujwal Joshi handling cinematography.
