Kathmandu – The movie ‘Actor: Take One’, set to release on Magh 16, claims to introduce a new perspective to the Nepali cinema industry, according to its director Rajan Bhusal.
He stated that the film prioritizes both technical excellence and narrative depth.
‘Actor: Take One’ has been produced following international technical standards. According to director Bhusal, the film is not just a medium to tell a story but is also technically sound. He says, “A film is not just about storytelling; the technical aspects should also leave an impact on the audience. This film will establish a strong technical benchmark.”
Actor Rajballav Koirala, who plays a key role in the film, is making a comeback to Nepali cinema after nearly 10 years. According to director Bhusal, Koirala’s involvement in this project is a significant achievement. Koirala, who had been absent from the Nepali film industry for a long time, is making an exciting return with ‘Actor: Take One’, which is considered an opportunity for the audience to reconnect with him.
“Rajballav Koirala had previously attempted a comeback, but he was waiting for the right role and project. This film has provided him that opportunity,” said Bhusal.
The film’s trailer showcases actor Pradeep Khadka’s struggle and dream of becoming an artist, which has captivated the audience. The trailer highlights the effort required to achieve success in acting and the challenges that come with it. However, director Bhusal refutes the idea that the film creates a negative perception of the acting profession. He states, “This film aims to present acting from a different perspective. Being in the ‘drama thriller’ category, it does not negatively portray artists’ personal or professional lives.”
Director Bhusal believes that ‘Actor: Take One’ has the potential to elevate Nepali cinema to an international level both narratively and technically. With increasing audience interest, Magh 16 is eagerly anticipated as a significant day.
The film features lead roles by Pradeep Khadka, Anna Sharma, Divya Rayamajhi, Rajballav Koirala, Divya Dev, Srijana Adhikari, Usha Rajak, and Sushil Sitaula, among others. The script has been written by Akash Baral and Rajan Bhusal. Produced jointly by Adhrit Films and A Moti Film, the film’s producers are Thaman Kumar Bhandari, with Moti Karki as the creative producer, and Anish Bhusal as the co-producer.
