Today, Wednesday, a meeting of the ruling party held in Baluwatar focused on three main issues. The discussions included the government’s first hundred days of work, future programs, and matters related to cooperatives.
After the meeting, CPN (Unified Marxist–Leninist) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel informed the press that Prime Minister Oli would address the achievements of the government’s first hundred days at three o’clock today.
According to Pokharel, another meeting of the ruling party will be held on Friday. He stated, “A meeting of the ruling parties will convene at 3 PM on Friday to present our vision. We will discuss various issues, draw conclusions, and make them public.”
The meeting also criticized the recent activities of the Nepal Freedom Party (Raswapa) following the arrest of its chairman for cooperative fraud. He said, “Engaging in activities to influence the court by gathering crowds on the streets while the investigation process is underway is not appropriate from a democratic perspective. It is not right to try to influence an investigation into criminal charges through street protests. The parliament has directed the investigation, and this should be taken smoothly.”
Following Lamichhane’s arrest, Raswapa has been holding protests centered in Pokhara. He remarked, “The kind of culture presented by the newly formed political party undermines democracy. We urge not to engage in any activities that could influence the rule of law. There is no bias from the ruling side in this matter.”
The meeting was attended by Congress Chairman Deuba, Home Minister Lekh, UML Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel, General Secretary Pokharel, Joint Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party Renukumar Yadav, Vice Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Rajkishore Yadav, President of the Democratic Socialist Party Mahnath Thakur, President of the Citizens’ Freedom Party Ranjita Shrestha, and President of the Janamat Party CK Raut, among others.
