Actress Sarita Giri claims that the film Karma will change the tagline of the character of mother in Nepali cinema.

Currently, the image that comes to the minds of audiences and filmmakers when the character of a mother is mentioned will be erased by the character of mother in Karma, according to her.

Sarita says that the character of mother in films has generally been stereotyped, and Karma will change this perception.

Sarita also mentioned that she was impressed when director Sourabh Chaudhary offered her a role in the film. Sourabh told her that what he wanted was not a mother, but a character.

“He (director Sourabh Chaudhary) impressed me with this line when he offered me the role,” she said. “He said that what was needed in the film was not a mother, but a character. That is exactly what is in the film.”

Although Sarita has played the role of a mother in many films, she claims that the character in Karma is different. She enjoys playing characters, and the character of mother in Karma is no exception.

“I may have played the role of a mother many times,” she says, “but in Karma, it’s not just the role of a mother. There is much more to it. After this film is released, the old tagline for a mother character will disappear.”

In Karma, Sarita Giri plays the role of Bipin Karki’s mother. The film also stars Upasana Singh Thakuri, Mukun Bhusal, Dibyadeb, Ben Basnet, Sujyan Silwal, Anil Budhathoki, Nirmal Sharma, among others.

The film Karma is set to release on the 29th of Chait (Nepali calendar 2082) during the New Year. It will be screened simultaneously in Nepal and abroad.

Karma is an action film that also blends drama, suspense, and action. The script is written by director Sourabh Chaudhary himself.

Karma has its international distribution rights acquired by Seven Seas Cinema.

The film features music direction by Bhaskar Swarn, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj, fight direction by Shri Shrestha, and editing by Nimesh Shrestha.

The main assistant director of the film is Taranath Nyaupane, with Samir Miya’s BFA, Uttam Nyaupane’s background score, Sahil Khan’s teaser-trailer, publicity design by Vijay Bashyal, and color correction by Rajendra Moktan.

Produced by Artistic Entertainment, Karma is their first film.

Director Chaudhary’s Agastya: Chapter 1 received positive responses from both audiences and critics.
