The trailer for ‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2’, directed by Dipendra K. Khanal, has received a strong response from viewers. Due to positive reception, the trailer has garnered a high number of views on YouTube.
Within less than a day, the trailer amassed 1 million views, over 350 comments, and 11,000 likes.
In recent times, it has become difficult for most Nepali film trailers and teasers to reach 1 million views within 24 hours. However, this trailer, released on Friday, managed to cross the milestone before completing a full day.
This has indicated the audience’s interest in ‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2’, according to the production team.
Director Khanal stated, “Just as the audience has shown love through the trailer, we expect the same love to be shown in theaters.” He added that the film is well-made and backed by a strong team, so it won’t disappoint the viewers.
The trailer, released on Friday, explores the contrast between owning a house and renting. It reflects the current societal belief that a house is everything—a symbol of identity and prestige—and the problems that such attachment brings.
It highlights the struggles of the younger generation in protecting and acquiring property, and the negative consequences that result from it. The trailer clearly depicts how an obsession with property affects financial matters and family relationships, which has resonated with audiences.
Director Khanal, known for successful social dramas like ‘Pashupati Prasad’, ‘Aama’, and ‘Chiso Manche’, is set to release this film on Jestha 2 (May 15).
The story of ‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2’ is written by renowned author Buddhisagar, marking his debut in film writing.
Produced under the banner of Apple Entertainment, A Plus Entertainment, and Natraj Creation, the film features a cast that includes Gaurav Lamichhane, Aryan Sigdel, Nischal Basnet, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Keki Adhikari, Prakash Ghimire, Srijana Napit, Sajjan Shrestha, Gaurav Bista, Shankar Acharya, and child artist Rubina Ghimire.
The cinematography is done by Krishna Bahadur Thapa. The producers are Nakim Uddin, Sharad Shrestha, and Kiran Maharjan, with Yubaraj Karki as the executive producer.
In recent times, Nepali theaters have struggled to draw large audiences. Given this scenario, such high viewership on the trailer is a positive sign. However, the real test lies in how many of those views translate into ticket sales, which will ultimately determine the film’s commercial success.
With high expectations from both the cast and crew, the film is anticipated to attract theatergoers. But how well it addresses the ongoing scarcity of viewers in cinemas will only be known after its release on Jestha 2 (May 15).
